1895-96 ¬Ωa blue-green, type 1 opt on India, horizontal pair, the right stamp showing the remarkable variety Diaeresis over last 'a' resulting from the erroneous use of a German modified 'a' instead of the normal letter, fresh and fine, large part o.g. From R10/5 of a small late printing from Setting 3. Fascinating and very rare, with few examples recorded. BPA cert (2024). [The existence of such a German letter in the 'Zanzibar Gazette' printing office reflects the cosmopolitan character of the town, with English, French, German, Arabic and Gujrati all in regular use.] - P245002809
