South Australia SG 168 var 1882 cover from Narracoorte to Adelaid with 1876-1904 2d bisect

1882 (NO 9) printed 'NARRACOORTE HERALD' envelope with endorsement 'WITHOUT LETTER / FROM / Herald Office, / NARRACOORTE', circled in blue crayon with m/s note 'OK', addressed to Adelaide (subsequently redirected to Sydney) and franked by 1876-1904 2d orange BISECTED DIAGONALLY, tied by very fine strike of 'NARRACOORTE / S_A' cds with further strike alongside. The reverse with fancy advert for the Narracoorte Herald and Sydney arrival (NO 14) backstamp. Light creasing and opened on three sides for display, nevertheless a remarkable cover which clearly demonstrates official acceptance of this unauthorised bisect to pay the printed matter rate.
