1897 2½d on 3d dull purple and green, type 12 surcharge, cancelled by complete Freetown cds, dated "MR 1 97", and blue crayon registration line at foot. Only 148 possible, with this type occurring only once in the 10x3 setting, at R3/9, and much scarcer in used condition. A really fine example, with the surcharge misplaced upwards and most unusual thus. - P256000706
