1938 (SEP) registered cover to Denver, Colorado, endorsed 'Registered Book Post - Per R.M.S. "Kenya"' and correctly franked at 26c (6c postage + 20c registration) by 1938-49 6c orange and 20c blue, tied by poor strikes of cds. On arrival in USA it was passed by US customs but the post office treated it as an ordinary letter, with violet h/s 'LETTER PACKAGE / COLLECT TEN CENTS' and application of 10c red postage due, tied by Denver oval. Backstamped at Chicago (OCT 12) and Denver (OCT 13). Some faults but quite extraordinary. - P267000709
