1895 (16 JY) registered cover from St John's to Chicago, franked at 11c by 1887 10c black 'ship' and 1894 ½c black 'Newfoundland dog' (horizontal pair), tied by mute ovals with 'R' in oval and St John's registered oval ds (dated altered in manuscript from '13' to '16' JY 95) at left. The reverse most unusually with backstamps in THREE different colours, namely Boston transit (JUL 21) in violet, Chicago arrival ds (JUL 23) in red and recipient's ds (JUL 23) in green. A fine and attractive cover. - P267000557
