1850 (MR 7) wrapper from Auckland to London, the face with mainly fine strike of 'PAID / AT / AUCKLAND.NEW ZEALAND' crowned-circle and m/s rating '8' and showing superb despatch cds and London arrival (22 JY) on reverse. Lightly folded with neat docketing at foot, still much above average and scarce. (cat £450) [The docketing reveals that the sender was the Reverend Walter Lawry, who was in charge of the Methodist mission in New Zealand between 1844 and 1854.] - P267000311
