Malaya Straits Settlements 1941 Clipper cover from Penang to New York $1.45 rate

1941 (12 MY) censored airmail cover from Penang to New York with typed endorsement 'TRANS-PACIFIC AIR-MAIL VIA CHINA-CLIPPER', franked at $1.45 Clipper rate by 1937-41 KGVI 5c brown, 40c scarlet and dull purple, and $1 black and red/blue, tied by two strikes of 'PENANG / MALAYA' cds (Proud type D103). Opened for inspection at left and resealed with brown censor tape, tied front and back by boxed 'OPENED BY / CENSOR. 2.' rectangular handstamp in violet. An exceptionally nice commercial cover, and very scarce thus. [N.B. The $1.45 Clipper rate lasted for just 17 days (10 to 27 May) before being reduced to $1.40.]
