Malaya Kedah SG 52, 53, 55 Cover 1927 12c blue registered postal stationery envelope used to London

1927 (19 JUL) 12c blue registered p/s envelope (size G), addressed to London and uprated with 1922-40 1c black (surface scuff), 3c green and 5c yellow, tied by two strikes of 'ALOR STAR / KEDAH' despatch cds (Proud type D10) with matching registration h/s (type R4) at left. The face additionally with London registered hooded cds (14 AU) and backstamped at Penang (20 JY). A fine and underrated usage. UPSS RE6. [N.B. Although the registration rate increased from 10c to 12c on 1 Nov 1921, the 12c registered envelope was not available until the second half of 1925. Subsequently the rate increased again to 15c on 1 Jan 1926 and a new envelope was issue in mid-1927, giving an effective period of use of less than two years.] - P267000447
