1854-57 2d deep blue on more or less blued paper, wmk Small Crown, perf 16, plate 4, horizontal pair lettered EB-EC, brilliant large part o.g. The right stamp with trivial perf toning at foot, still exceptionally fine and fresh. A rare multiple, especially in such lovely condition. RPS (1945) and BPA (2016) certs. Ex Murphy (RL 25 Feb 1970, lot 2016) where it was illustrated in colour on the front cover of the catalogue, and Shields (private treaty, February 2022). (cat £7000+) P267000077
