GB 1881 SG154,165,166 Cover

1881 Registered mail. Very attractive triple rate cover from Falmouth to Genoa, Italy, prepaid at the 9¬Ωd rate (3 x 2¬Ωd plus 2d registration) by two 4d grey-brown Pl.17 (SG154, Wmk. Large garter), 1d venetian red, and ¬Ωd green, all neatly tied by Falmouth squared circle datestamps for MY.3.1881. Lightly struck REGISTERED/LONDON datestamp at right for the 4th and a superb strike of the London Crown/REGISTERED handstamp in black (very late usage). Genoa arrival cds on reverse for the 6th. Cover slightly truncated at right from opening, nevertheless a rare stamp on cover with only around 45 recorded, of which only 7 are registered. - P212019950
