Very fine Penny Pink envelope to London marked endorsed in red ink 'Registered Letter No. 67 Pd 1/-', cancelled by a fine strike of the black Maltese Cross with Newark despatch cds at lower left for OC.18.1842 and a red London 'PAID' tombstone arrival datestamp for the 20th. A charming and important cover believed to be the earliest recorded example of the Penny Pink used for registered mail. - P223001255
