1840 2d Pale blue Pl.1. Very fine used close to very large four margin example lettered CD used on clean entire from Cromarty to Edinburgh by a crisp red MC. Black 'CROMARTY' town handstamp to left of adhesive, and a red Edinburgh receiving cds on reverse for JY.24.1840. Very light trace of a filing fold crosses adhesive, barely visible and nor detracting from this very attractive 2d blue cover. Spec.DS6. Cat. £2500. - P223010201
