1840 1d Black Pl.5 (State 3). Very fine used four margin example lettered DA, neatly tied to cover by a black MC. Sent from Steyning to Plumpton near Lewes with Steyning and Lewes cds's on reverse for MY8.1841. A very scarce example in state 3 following the 2nd repair in 1840 showing extreme thinning of both the corner letters and upper corner stars. Spec. AS28a. - P223011854
