1840 1d Black Pl.5 (Second repair, State 3). Very fine used large four margin example lettered DC showing significant thinning to letters and stars tied to an entire by a crisp black MC sent from Bolton to London, backstamped with a Bolton dispatch cds for FE.16.1841 and a London arrival datestamp for the following day. Minor paper defect at top from seal removal whilst opening nevertheless a presentable example of this difficult repaired state on cover and early official use of a black MC. Spec. AS28a. - P212002611
