Cayman Islands SG MP4 1908 cover with manuscript provisional endorsement
£6,500.00
SKU: P267001681
1908 (OC 8) local stampless cover, addressed to Miss Belle Lyon, Georgetown, and bearing manuscript provisional 'Pd ¼d' endorsement in blue crayon at upper right, partially overstamped by 'GEORGE TOWN / GRAND CAYMAN' cds. Opened on two sides and trivial marks but overall a fine example of this very rare provisional. One of only three examples known to us, the others being ex Robert Cooley (Shreves Philatelic Galleries 23 Sep 1995, lot 110) and Graham Booth (SGA 15 Jun 2022, lot 46). (cat £8500) - P267001681
