British Virgin Islands SG 78b 1919 registered cover to England with 1916-19 1d War Stamp

1919 (AP 23) pair of registered 'Foster' covers to England, respectively bearing 1916-19 'WAR STAMP' 1d pale red/bluish and 3d purple/lemon blocks of 4, each centrally cancelled by 'TORTOLA' cds (the 1d additionally tied by blue crayon registration lines), with 'ROAD-TOWN' registration h/s at left. Backstamped at St Thomas (APR 28), New York (12 May), Liverpool (25 MY) and London (27 MY). Slight creasing at left but a neat and interesting pair, the 3d block showing variety Broken 'A' in 'ISLANDS' and scarce thus. - P267000675
