1894 (AU 16) registered cover from Old Calabar to England, correctly franked at 4¬Ωd (2¬Ωd postage + 2d registration) by 1894 (May) 2d lake perf 13¬Ω-14 (x2) and 1894 (10 Aug) "ONE HALF PENNY" on 2¬Ωd blue provisional, type 17 surcharge, pos. 7 of the setting, tied by individual squared circles with fancy "R" handstamp between. The face with Old Calabar (16 AU) and Liverpool (17 SP) registered ovals, and red London registered hooded cds (17 SP). Minor marks on reverse, still fine and attractive. Only 960 issued of the provisional, and a rarity on cover. - P223012965
