Ionian Islands SG CC1 1849 entire from Cephalonia to England

1849 (9 June) entire (cross-written) from Cephalonia to Blackheath, England, endorsed "Via Marseilles" and showing on face a very fine strike of 'PAID / AT / CEPHALONIA' crowned circle, 'scroll' despatch ds and m/s "5" rating, the upper flap with light Malta (JU 12) and London (20 JU) transit cds (the latter in red). The scarcest of the Ionian Islands crowned circles and a particularly fine example.
