Great Britain 1918 hand illustrated On Active Service cover to Surrey

Illustrated Envelopes. 1918 (AU 15) hand drawn and coloured cover to Surrey, depicting two ladies (one wearing a hat incorporating the letters 'OAS' - On Active Service, the other a nurse) and an army officer (holding a placard in which is written the address and artist's signature), the nurse holding a large circular object onto which an obliging clerk has placed a fine strike of the 'ARMY POST OFFICE / S36' cds. Light unobtrusive creasing and toned on reverse, nevertheless a most unusual and appealing cover. - P267000818
