1900 Naval Officers' Mail. Very fine cover from Lt. Tristan Dannreuther, R.N. serving aboard HMS 'Leander' a ten gun 2nd Class Cruiser at Pernambuco, Brazil. Addressed to Hastings, Sussex and prepaid by a 1d lilac tied by a London/MB cds (Robertson type MB4) for DE.9.1900. Carried from Pernambuco by Royal Mail steamer 'Minho' via St Vincent to Cherbourg, then by London and Southwestern Railway Co. steamer 'St Malo' to Southampton. Ex Geoffrey Osbourn. - P212021102
