1883 Overseas mail. Very fine cover to Newcastle, Natal endorsed "Via Plymouth Pr. "Tartar", prepaid a 6d Lilac Pl.18 tied by a Sidmouth squared circle for SP.20.1883 with a Plymouth cds for SP.21.1883 and Natal and Newcastle receivers on reverse for OC.20-22.1883. The "Tartar" was a 4425 ton steamer of the Union line that ran on a regular service to the Cape until 1897. - P189011463
