1871 British Post Offices abroad. Superb three colour franking from Guayaquil, Ecuador to Barcelona via the British packet agency. The 2s5d rate prepaid with a 1d Rose red Pl.136, 4d Vermilion Pl.12 and a 2s Dull blue Pl.1, all neatly cancelled by crisp Guayaquil 'C41' numerals. Routed via Panama and London with datestamps on obverse for AU.20.1871 and SP.11.1871 respectively, backstamped with a Guayaquil departure cds for AU.9.1871. An extremely beautiful and rare franking from the Puig correspondence. - P223001573
