1840 1d Black Pl.5. Very fine used, good to very large four margin example lettered CL, neatly tied to a clean uncreased entire by a very fine strike of the distinctive Plymouth black MC. Sent from Plymouth to Mr Apie, Artist at St. Agnes but re-directed to the Cornish mecca for any artist, St. Ives. Blue Truro transit cds to left of adhesive, and a Plymouth dispatch cds on reverse for FE.23.1841. A superb exhibition quality item accompanied by a 1983 RPS Cert. Spec. AS25ui.
