1851 6d 'Prince Albert', imperforate plate proof in blue-grey on India paper, with vertical 'SPECIMEN.' opt in carmine, a block of 6 (2x3) plated as right pane pos. 6-7/26-7 with very large margins. Insignificant natural paper flaws (microscopic airhole on right frameline of pos.16) but lovely appearance. Made c. 1851-54, prior to the addition of marginal inscriptions.
