1882 (AP 11) cover to Fiume, franked by 1875-81 4d crimson-lake, attractively cancelled by "bootheel" obliterator which frames "Britannia" perfectly. Despatch cds alongside, with London (MY 13) and Fiume (MAY 17) backstamps. Minor traces of soiling and small envelope fault at lower left, but a very neat usage to a scarce destination. Almost certainly ex Burrus (RL 29 Nov 1962, lot 832 part) and one of only nine single frankings of the 4d crimson-lake recorded by M. Fitz Roett. - P223013036
